Let's talk honestly about Bromelain For Clearer Airways, Explained and what BreathiZen can — and can't — do for it.
Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme extracted from pineapple stems, standardized in BreathiZen to 2400 GDU/g. Its job is to break down the thick structural proteins that make mucus stubborn and hard for the body to clear on its own.
Paired with Mullein, Bromelain gives a two-part approach to congestion: Mullein helps move mucus while Bromelain helps thin it. Together they support airways that feel open rather than blocked.
GDU stands for Gelatin Digesting Units, a measure of enzyme activity; 2400 GDU/g is a strong, well-standardized potency.
Like the rest of BreathiZen, Bromelain supports your breathing gradually. Most people look for subtle changes over a few weeks of daily use, not an instant shift.
